Throughout our students’ stay with us, we baseline, track and review their academic progress each lesson. We work from the Data Pioneers progression guidance developed from the National Curriculum to ensure pupils learning targets and pace of progress remains in line with their peers in mainstream schools.
One of our main roles as a service is to prepare students for the next stage of their education/career. When a young person becomes unwell, or is missing a lot of school, a lot of anxiety can build about the future, the fear of failure and missing important exams. To try an alleviate some of this anxiety, we are a registered exam centre with AQA, Cambridge International Examinations and Pearson Edexcel.

Therefore, we have the ability to facilitate pupils to sit their GCSEs or A Levels with us, even if they have been entered by their home school. We can also enter pupils for certain exams such as Functional Skills Maths and English throughout the year.
The HHTS provides an intensive, personalised and flexible educational programme which includes needs related to examination arrangements.

If the pupil is not currently working towards Key Stage 4 or Key Stage 5 exams, there are other opportunities for the pupils to take part in other recognised accreditations and awards. These include, the UKMT Maths Challenges, The Arts Award and EPQ.

Pupils also have the opportunity to work towards British Sign Language Level 1 and 2 qualifications with Signature.
