The Wandsworth Hospital & Home Tuition Service is committed to providing appropriate, high quality education. We believe that all children and young people, including those identified as having a special educational need or a disability (SEND), have a common entitlement to a strong academic and social curriculum which is accessible to them. Our SEND Policy makes explicit our approach in this regard.
Furthermore, we believe that all children should be equally valued in education. We strive to eliminate prejudice and discrimination, and to develop an environment where all children and young people can flourish and feel safe. Our Equality and Disability Policy, in part, underscores this commitment.
The SEN LA Local Offer
The Local Offer has set out to transform the landscape of special educational needs and disability provision to ensure that all children with SEND can enjoy a high quality educational experience and work towards positive life outcomes and opportunities. It provides opportunities for families of children to collaboratively secure the support they require from providers within their locality. Young adults are also able to search for services that match their requirements through person-centred planning, and local commissioners of services, schools and other professionals can access a growing network of providers from all sectors across education, health and social care. This is the ‘Local Offer’.
