HHTS also employs a range of alternative teaching methods to ensure we can support the learning of young people studying a subject area outside our core offer, and/or those who are unable to attend the classroom.
Such methods may include the use of Virtual Learning Platforms, subject delivery partnerships with other schools or the use of technology such as ‘No Isolation’ Classroom Robots.
HHTS also employs Google Classrooms to create online, virtual classrooms where students can submit assignments, receive feedback and experience online peer collaboration.
When patients not well enough to access the classroom, we offer a personalised programme of ward teaching to enable pupils to continue with their academic studies and take part in creative activities.
In St. George’s School, we can also offer ‘Rainbow Time’ which are 1:1 sessions for those students who are unable to mix with other young people due to their medical diagnosis.
